Entertainment News: Davido has 3 songs with Young Thug

The singer is working towards the release of his EP this year, after signing to Sony Music in January. One of the songs on the project will include a collaboration with Young Thug, who have been linked with him over time. But the extent of their work together was not made public.

Davido has revealed that in an interview with Ebro Darden, Host of Beats 1 on Apple Radio. According to the Nigerian superstar, he recorded three songs with Young Thug in New York.

“Last year I was more of “I gotta this person on my track, I gotta get that person on my track”. He said. “Especially since that Meek Mill record, it ‘do you’, everything gonna come’.

“I remember I was trying to get in the studio with (Young) Thug, one of my boys from Atlanta hooked us up. So after a while, I was just like, let me just let it go. Then two weeks ago, I was chilling, I just get a text saying ‘Yo, where you at?’, and it’s Thug. And he’s like ‘Come to the studio’, he was like three tracks, and it was done. We did one for his stuff, and two for mine.

Davido recently signed a US distribution deal with RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music. RCA Records is an American flagship recording label (alongside Columbia Records and Epic Records) of Sony Music Entertainment (SME), home to a number of top stars, including ASAP Ferg, ASAP Rocky, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Zayn Malik, Usher, T-Pain, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Pink and many others. Singer Banky W Receives State Recognition In New York

For his contribution to his community and successful career, R&B singer, Banky W, has been honoured with Citation certificates by Eric L. Adams, the President of  the Borough of Brooklyn.

The ‘Strong Thing’ crooner who is currently in New York, made this known in the late hours of Friday, July 22, 2016, via his Instagram.
In his post, Banky W shared details of his journey to stardom, and how he made an ultimate sacrifice of relocating to Nigeria, leaving his family in the United States.

This has however paid off, as he is now regarded as one of Africa’s top musician.

The singer wrote, “So earlier today, The President of the Borough of Brooklyn honoured us with Citation certificates, for our contributions to our communities and for our career accomplishments.”

“Here’s the thing… in life, it’s important to find your purpose, and to trust God and believe in yourself as you work hard to chase it. Follow the path that leads to you fulfilling your destiny.”

“I lived in NYC for over 10 YEARS. And at the time, being on stage at a venue like the Barclay’s Center, or being honoured by the City Of New York, didn’t seem like something that was remotely possible. “

“But I felt like my calling/destiny was back home in Africa. I felt like the music grind I’d started… it just felt like Lagos was where I was meant to be. Even though at the time, my entire immediate family no longer lived in Naija and my parents couldn’t understand why I’d want to risk it all to go back there.”
The Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) boss used his experiences as a moral aimed at encouraging his followers to pursue their dreams.
According to him, if he could achieve such a feat, then anyone can.

“It took a while to make the decision, But I quit my Job in Engineering, bought a one way ticket and came back. And here I am, 7 years later, performing at and hosting the #oneafricamusicfest at the Barclay’s Center… being honoured by Brooklyn… I share this not to be arrogant.. but to tell you that truly, NOTHING is impossible. You can be all that you plan to be. If I could make it, you can too.”

“Your current position in life is only temporary. It’s like The story of Joseph in the Bible… he had to go all the way to Prison to make it to the Palace.. God did it for me, He can do it for you too. Who would have thought that I’d need to go all the way to Africa to make it to the “top” of NYC?“

“Don’t give up on yourself or your dreams. Impossible is not fact; it’s merely an opinion. As my boy @officialkingslee once shared with me.. even when it seems like things are falling apart, they can still fall into place. You can make it. I promise.”

Youngest Black Pilot To Fly Across America #StraightOuttaCompton

Isaiah Cooper, a 16 year old male from Compton, Southern California has just made history after completing a record-breaking flight across the United States of America.

He has just been recognized as the youngest black pilot to fly cross-country after he completed an 8,000 mile flight and a two week trip across the continent.

The young boy had a few unavoidable challenges due to poor weather conditions during his landing, but has now set a remarkable record that has encouraged him to set a new goal of wanting to become the youngest pilot in the world.

Petgrave told NBC LA

“He was able to execute the emergency procedures flawlessly, got it on the road, landed, didn’t damage the houses, the schools, the construction crew, nothing. I mean, he got out of that thing safely.”

Cooper told VIBE:

“I began attending an aviation youth program in Compton atTomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum (TAM) when I was 5 years old. But as I got older, I began hanging with the wrong crowd, doing seriously self destructive things,” he admitted that he had realized “that this was not how I wanted to live my life, I returned to TAM. My main goal is to become a productive young man with a future in aviation, and not a statistic.”

We can only look forward to hearing more awesome things about this young and talented African American and hope this inspires more to achieve big.
